5 Of The Best Video Game Areas, Levels, And Dungeons

Can you recall your all-time favorite video game setting? Since I was around five years old, I’ve been playing video games. I’ve played both excellent and poor video games. There are games that I can play through and forget about for a year, and then there are games that I can just finish a little bit of and remember clearly.

What is the point of playing video games? If you like RPGs, you may be interested in storylines. FPS fans want balance, design, strategic value, and so forth. With all of that in mind, you wouldn’t care about any game if it didn’t have unique aesthetics. Super Mario 64 wouldn’t be worth playing if the ambience was flat and uninteresting, would it? Let’s take a look at five video game levels that we should all remember for the rest of our lives.

GoldenEye 007 – Facility

When I go back to my N64 days and GoldenEye 007, the first level that comes to me is Library. Because it offered the right amount of rooms and perspectives for both competitive and strategic play, Library was the level you’d always play in four-player matches.

I was about to declare it the finest level in GoldenEye 007, and one of the best levels of all time, then I recalled Facility.

I despise first-person shooters. I’m terrible at them and despise the experience. Nonetheless, if you didn’t like GoldenEye 007 on the N64, you’re not a true gamer. This level has a lot to keep in mind. Make sure your speakers are turned on, because I’m sure you’ll remember this song!

You could always count on someone camping in the bathrooms since the 10-year-old version of all of us believed that was the ideal hiding spot. This is also an excellent level for building proximity mines. There are vents, doorways, twists, and other features. You’re going to blow up someone if you plant those mines everywhere.

Final Fantasy VII – Midgar

Midgar is a fantastic location for a game that may be claimed to be one of the finest RPGs in console history for a variety of reasons.

Looking at the video above, I wouldn’t be shocked or insulted if your first impression was that it wasn’t all that fantastic. I’m sure it doesn’t to someone who hasn’t played Final Fantasy VII and hasn’t encountered Midgar. Here are some things to think about:

  • The game begins with a 30-second cutscene, after which you are flung from a train and run across Midgar. It’s one of the quickest openings to an RPG I’ve ever experienced.
  • Midgar seems to be very difficult to first-time gamers. The first city in the game should take between three and six hours to complete.
  • Escaping Midgar is a breathtaking experience. Midgar’s overall mood is bleak and dismal. When you eventually leave, the game’s underlying atmosphere shifts, and it’s wonderful to realize that there’s a whole overworld waiting for you to explore.
  • You have the option to return to Midgar on the third disc of this game. You’re nearing the finish of the game, and before your last encounter, you have the opportunity to relive the beginning.

Getting through Midgar is an accomplishment that anybody who has played this game will remember fondly.

Banjo-Kazooie – Treasure Trove Cove

Okay, Mumbo’s Mountain was enjoyable. Freezeezy Peak and Clanker’s Cavern were both fantastic. Treasure Trove Cove, on the other hand, is something spectacular.

This planet is more alive than any other N64 platformer level I can recall. It’s just stunning, and the soundtrack (like with all of the music in this game) perfectly complements it.

You can’t help but have fun sprinting through this level, climbing up the ship, leaping off the spring pads, and doing anything else is possible. There’s even a section of this level where you may input cheat codes to influence the remainder of the game.

While all of this seems upbeat and enjoyable, there is one caveat: do not go too far out into the sea. When you’re a youngster, that shark is quite horrifying.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Water Temple

Because of how disgustingly tough Ocarina of Time’s sixth dungeon is, it almost seems immoral to laud and admire it. This level will give players nightmares. It forces players to resign in the midst of a game. I’m not sure how anybody gets through this dungeon without employing a tutorial, map, or some kind of third-party lifeline that points you in the proper path. It’s completely crazy.

This dungeon is loaded with riddles that send you in all directions and tire you. You’ll be locking and unlocking doors, increasing and decreasing water levels, battling some bothersome monsters, and ultimately confronting the boss of the Water Temple.

“Water Temple” is also a word used outside of the gaming world to represent difficulties that are difficult or impossible to overcome. It’s that significant. You can spend three hours aimlessly wandering through traps, mazes, and being duped by illusions and yet make very little progress. Don’t put yourself through that. This level alone makes Ocarina of Time one of the most difficult video games I’ve ever played.

Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone

Green Hill Zone is the first and finest level in Sonic the Hedgehog’s first game. This was the reason why youngsters coveted a Genesis.

Sonic the Hedgehog introduced a whole new twist to the platformer genre, and this level was the ideal method to show newbies what they were in for. You’ll race over spikes and blocks, leap over monsters, gather cash, and do everything else you’d expect to accomplish in later stages of the game. It’s an excellent method to be ready for what’s to come. This level wonderfully prepares novice players to learn what a Sonic game is all about.

This one level did wonders for a whole genre, the Genesis platform, and the Sonic brand, which would ultimately spawn countless games. You remember it if you’ve played it.
